Tomorrow Monday is the release of KMyMoney 3.95. This will signal the end of a great and challenging year to me, and of course, as every end, it is the beginning of something else.

On the KMyMoney side of things, we started the year working hard on making our 1.0 release, which didn't arrive until August. We also started the port to KDE4 in May, which was particularly demanding to me, since it meant moving the project under the KDE umbrella, and learning new workflows and interactions in the process. What seemed a daunting task, the port, is now a reality, and I have been using the KDE4 version for about 3 months now, with only minor problems here and there.

On the personal side, my girlfriend was pregnant, and our beautiful girl arrived on July not without her fair share of hiccups, but bringing an amazing joy in the process. My daughter is almost 6 months old now, and she is of course the most beautiful baby in the world. Being her parent is a proof of impartiality, of course. I haven't had a good rest in months, but I wouldn't change all what's happened these last months for anything.

Work, on the other hand, has been a downward slope, and I think I'm coming to the end of my cycle in my current employer. The first 4 months were extremely dense, then 2 months compensation time, and then a project here or there, but nothing has really caught my interest and there is no real perspective of improvement. Plus, the pay is not good. (Company policy, you would understand if I could mention my employer). So, I'm probably going to look for a new job this coming year. Any companies working on Qt/KDE in Argentina? Or somewhere else, but that I can work from here?

2010 is certainly going to be exciting, with a lot to do in KMyMoney, probably more stuff in Kde-Ar and perhaps the first KDE Finance meetup, if we manage to coordinate and pull that off. And in the meantime, my daughter beginning to walk and talk around me. Amazing times ahead!
