I sent a similar post to our SF mailing list, but I thought it would be good to make a reminder here.

The current version of KMyMoney is for KDE3. It runs just fine in KDE4, provided you have some compatibility libraries.
That version is hosted in the CVS repository of Sourceforge. It is the version you should be using if you are a regular user of KMyMoney.

There is an ongoing effort to port KMM to KDE4. That version is hosted in the SVN repository at kde.org. That version will steal your food, eat your home pets,sleep on your bed and run away with your money. :)

Only a few people are running that version as their main version. Myself, I have lost a week of data only a week ago because it was not saving correctly. Think about that before trying to use it. I still use it, though, because you have to taste your own food before giving it to someone else.

If you still want to give it a try, keep all this in mind, and please subscribe to the mailing list at kmymoney-devel at kde.org. All communications regarding that version go to that list, including warnings when things don't work or plain break, and we have a lot of that. The code moves very fast and the development team is doing a terrific job, but with all that work come some risks. I know some of you just can't keep your hands out of the bleeding-edge stuff, but in this case, the bleeding part refers to your data. ;)

And please, if any packager of a distribution feels like including this version, please refrain from doing so. We won't support it and, at least from my side, you will get a well-deserved bashing for playing with fire. You have been warned. ;)
