Dear Lazyweb, I have been googling a lot but I haven't found a way to synchronize my Nokia N95 with Kontact. I can plug it in via USB (I can get a bluetooth dongle if necessary).
Is there a way to sync my phone or the required pieces are still in the work?
Thanks in advance!
UPDATE: Several people suggested a guide to sync by using the Opensync-syncML plugin. The issue now is where can I find an Opensync plugin for Akonadi? There was one for KDE 3.5, but not for KDE4.
UPDATE2: Here is a hope for SyncML to be integrated into Akonadi. Anyone aware of the status of this? http://saschpe.wordpress.com/2009/08/04/gsoc-updates-the-client-agent/
I also tried to setup a Kolab server, but I had no luck. I tried several tutorials, but I always get stuck at some point.

Seems likely to be another Job for the A(konadi)-Team who could update this for current trunk
Needs opensync 0.40
AFAICR, the required code in kdepim is disabled, because it relies on opensync 0.40, which has not been released yet.

Yo utilizaba opensync

Hi,
I don't know of a direct way to do it but what you could do is synchronise Kontact to Google Calendar and then sync Google Calendar to you N95 using Mail4Exchange, you can find the procedure here http://www.google.com/support/mobile/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=147951
Anyway the protocol you need is SyncML, if you find anything better than this procedure I'd be glad to know :)
Cheers,

One possible way: egroupware
You can use egroupware for this. Egroupware is a groupware server with groupdav and syncml support. You can sync kontact via groupdav and your n95 via the builtin nokia syncml client.
If you need further information about this send me an email: flo -a-t- flobittner.de

I found this on the interwob

It uses a bluetooth dongle but the chances are high it could work.

How about the connection between Kontact and Opensync? Is the conduit finished yet?
In short..
In short, no!
I've been all over trying to get opensync to work with the kde plugin, but it is REALLY BUGGY. Stuff crashes, phone needs a restart, contacs duplicate, it's a mess.. I have gotten it to work but it is so brittle I never know what will happen when I start a sync.
I have actually now given up trying to sync contacts and calendarstuff with my mobile (I have the n95 8gb ed) on linux (my last phone was the same). If there's one thing I *really* miss in linux, it is proper support for this. The phone is becomming increasingly important so it is strange so little attention is given.
I guess some of the newer linux-based phones will do better..
And I guess you have seen http://www.opensync.org/wiki/releases/0.2x/Nokia_N95?
Well, let me know if you find some Holy Grail which makes it all Just Work though.. :)

we desperately need this...
All synchronization is either lacking or buggy IMHO. All my hopes are on http://saschpe.wordpress.com/2009/08/04/gsoc-updates-the-client-agent/ to get a working solution. Since this is a finished GSoC project, I am not too sure who will pick it up from here.
kitchensync
Yo en KDE 3.5 usaba kitchensync para sincronizar los contactos y era una pasada. Iba bastante bien pero en KDE4 creo que aún no está portado :S
Al igual que la mayoría estoy buscando cómo hacerlo también.
Un saludo.
