I've been accepted as a KDE e.V. member
The KDE e.V. membership has had the deference to let me in. It was communicated to me and other new members yesterday. I must say I've felt honoured to see the group I was accepted with (people like John Layt, whom I've interacted due to his work in KCurrency, and Sandro Andrade, whose blogs I've read on the planet). To me, it has been a rather lengthy process. or shall I say, at a moderate pace. I've started filling up the questionnaire in late December and I finished it end of May. Not bad for less than 10 questions, right? Not bad at all.
There was one question that brought me memories from when I became a Bodhisattva. I had to write a letter to my Zen Master explaining why I wanted to become a Bodhisattva. I didn't do such a good job back then, so I took my time to do it right this time. By the way, on the forum and IRC, you can find me by my Boddhisatva name, Hei Ku. It's ancient Buddhist Japanese for "Peace of the Vacuum".
Now, back to the initial subject. I am very glad I've been accepted, and I hope I can help the KDE community, not only with my work in KDE Finance, but also in local events, the working groups, and other stuff. As I always say, everyone I've met has been really great, in every group or activity I've had to do here. Considering that we moved to KDE SVN without the slightest idea of what we were getting into, everyone has been really helpful and thougtful.
Last but not least, I have to say a very big THANK YOU to Lydia and Klaas. Lydia helped me with the membership form, clarifying the questions to me. Klaas gave me more info about the process and what being member is all about, and finally submitted my membership request. And finally to those who supported my request. You know who you are, and I thank you for your kind words. I won't let you down!
Now, this is just the beginning of the journey. Back to work!!
PS: Where can I get a @kde.org address? My personal mailbox is fully swamped with kde mails! I need to split the traffic!
